Every great kitchen has a story and this Bromsgrove one is no different. When our client came to Matthew James Kitchens they had a clear idea of what they wanted but were struggling to find the right team to deliver it. We know that a successful kitchen renovation requires a seamless partnership so we introduced them to our trusted builder and together we worked as one to ensure every aspect of the project was perfect.
Our client’s bold brief was for a design that was truly unique. They loved the contrast of different finishes so we created a two tone door design that makes a statement. The book matching of the worktop surface with light oak wall units shows our attention to detail and craftsmanship.
A big part of the brief was to create a space for the family to be together. We achieved this with a cleverly designed peninsula which gave them casual seating and opened up the space. This clever solution gave them more storage and turned the kitchen into a social heart of the home for modern family life.
The Brief
Our client wanted a modern handle-less kitchen that would make a statement but be practical. The design combines the crispness of Alpine White with the warmth of Halifax Oak, and the Fjord Green pops add depth and personality to the space.
Craftmanship
At Matthew James Kitchens, every material and design element is carefully considered to create a beautiful balance of style and durability. In this Bromsgrove kitchen, we’ve pulled together some beautiful finishes and features to show off our attention to detail.
The base of this kitchen is the material selection, where every element was chosen not just for how it looks but for how it works in the space.
Our material selection:
- CARCASE units in Alpine White are the premium finish; they reflect light throughout the space and are super durable and low maintenance.
- Halifax Oak doors add natural texture and warmth. We’ve chosen them for their unique grain pattern and ability to bring organic elements to the modern design.
- Fjord Green accents are strategically placed to add interest and depth. This modern pop elevates the whole design without overpowering the other elements.
- Quartz Calacatta Dourado worktops with 20mm polished, chamfered edges, natural stone meets modern engineering for maximum durability
- Bespoke features, Le Mans corner unit to maximise storage accessibility, showing we can combine clever storage with practicality
The combination of these materials makes for a beautiful palette that’s both timeless and modern. Each finish was chosen to work with the others, so every surface serves a purpose and contributes to the overall look of the kitchen.
Appliances
The integration of high-spec appliances was key to this project; we combined style with substance. We worked with our clients to choose a suite of Neff appliances that would meet their cooking needs and fit the design of the kitchen.
In the heart of the kitchen, we installed the following:
- Built-in Neff fridge (h1220 KI1412FE0G) into the cabinetry for maximum storage and clean lines.
- N50 series induction hob (T56FHS1L0) with custom cut-out for precise temperature control and easy cleaning
- Neff N50 Combi oven (C1AMG84G0B) with multiple cooking functions for flexible cooking
- Neff dishwasher (N30 S153ITX02G) for quiet operation and great cleaning
The pièce de résistance of the kitchen tech is the Quooker Flex PRO3 tap system in professional grade stainless steel. This game-changing tap eliminates the need for a kettle and gives instant filtered water options; we love to incorporate the latest technology to make life easier and more convenient.
Each appliance was placed to create a workflow, the layout is designed for smooth movement between cooking, cleaning and food storage areas. The handle-less design of the cabinetry works seamlessly with the modern appliances to create a luxurious look that’s practical to use.
Clever Solutions
An exceptional kitchen design requires clever thinking to combine functionality with style. In this Bromsgrove project, we had several design challenges to overcome.
Working within the architectural boundaries of the space we came up with clever solutions that improved the usability and looks of the kitchen. We approached each challenge with our mix of technical know-how and design sense.
We implemented:
- Custom window sill integration with matching riser to create a seamless look, maximise natural light, and keep the lines clean.
- Bespoke splashback sizing (800×700) to fit the space perfectly, protection without compromising the design.
- Drainer grooves are precision-engineered for functionality and style, carved to match the worktop finish.
- Upstands 100mm high for maximum protection, designed to work with the overall design and provide practical wall protection.
The beauty of these solutions is in the way they work with the overall design. By considering form and function we turned potential problems into features that make the space more usable and look more luxurious. Each solution was carefully planned and executed to show we care about the details.
The Result
The finished kitchen is a testament to our attention to detail and commitment to quality. Every element, from the handle-less cabinetry to the worktop, works together to create a space that looks and works beautifully. The combination of finishes – Alpine White, Halifax Oak and Fjord Green – is dynamic and balanced; our clients love living in this kitchen.
