A stunning in-frame kitchen in Farrow and Ball off-black. Our clients lived in a beautiful characterful, traditional property in the Old Quarter area of Stourbridge. They had a good-sized kitchen, with lovely features; such as high ceilings and an aga; but didn’t feel like they were making the best of the space; and were struggling to come up with ideas. Ideally, they wanted more storage and a seating area, but didn’t want it to feel cramped.
The kitchen overlooks the garden; so to give the impression of extra space, we decided to take out the window and put in bi-fold doors. This meant that we could now use the full length and width of the room.
Using our bespoke in-frame kitchen cabinetry we created two distinct work zones; with a 780mm wide bespoke island unit tying the two sides together. The island had an open-end unit to one end, and a breakfast bar to the other end overlooking the garden. Although quite a narrow island, a traditional skirting on the outside of the island gave it a real solid and planted feel.
Lots of drawers were included, extra high cabinetry, brick slip style tiles and a bespoke oak mantle painted off-black to match the doors.
Mirrorstone Taj Mahal worktops and Karndean flooring completed the look.
