Revitalizing the Heart of a Droitwich Home: A Tailored Kitchen Transformation

Project Background:

Our latest feat at Matthew James Kitchens was in a lovely home nestled in a charming village on the outskirts of Droitwich. The couple had been referred by a previous client of ours—the wife’s brother, who was pleased with our work on his kitchen six months earlier.

Confronted with the remains of an old and dark kitchen, complete with an AGA, we set out to usher in a wave of change. Our homeowners were uncertain about their specific needs, but they shared a unified vision: they yearned to depart from the shadowy past of their kitchen, eager for something more refreshing, full of light, and decidedly modern.

We took their wants and needs into our capable hands. With our wealth of experience and keen eye for design, we transformed their kitchen, beginning with the infusion of abundant natural light. We accomplished this by enhancing the size of the window at the kitchen’s rear, creating a larger portal for daylight to wash over the room and add warmth.

In keeping with the modern and vivacious design that the homeowners desired, we installed Fenix anti-fingerprint matt true handle-less kitchen units. Complemented by Fenix Verde Kitami & Venix Beige Luxur plywood doors, we crafted the aesthetics with raw plywood edges, diligently sanded and perfectly finished with lacquer for unrivalled elegance.

To equip this radiant room, we opted for top-of-the-line appliances, fitting in a Neff oven with a combi microwave, warming drawer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and a Bora Pure venting hob.

The sink area remains an essential part of our design, with an undermount sink integrated seamlessly, alongside a state-of-the-art Quooker tap which provides boiling, chilled, and sparkling water at a touch. An integrated bin further optimised the layout — a detail that speaks volumes of our commitment to create tailored kitchen spaces that balance style and function.

To complete this transformation, we laid a new Karndean floor— chosen for its durability and eye-catching design— and adorned the counters with the robust and timeless Caesarstone Primordia 20mm Quartz worktop.

A Personal Journey with Matthew James

At Matthew James Kitchens, we've been at the heart of homes for generations, watching kitchen trends evolve while staying true to timeless craftsmanship. As a family-run business deeply rooted in our community, we understand that your kitchen is more than just a room—it's the soul of your home.

Have a question?

As a family-run business that values transparency, we understand the importance of timing. Every kitchen is unique, just like the families we serve. Typically, from initial design to the final polished surface, a bespoke kitchen can take anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks. But rest assured, we'll work closely with you to ensure the process fits seamlessly into your life.

This is where our expertise truly shines. There's no one-size-fits-all answer, as each home and homeowner has different needs. We take pride in sitting down with you, perhaps over a cup of tea in our showroom, to understand how you live, cook, and entertain. Whether it's a classic work triangle or a more modern zoned approach, we'll craft a layout that's as functional as it is beautiful

This is a question we get asked all the time. In our experience, clever storage solutions are the unsung heroes of a well-designed kitchen. From pull-out pantries to bespoke corner units, we have a myriad of tricks up our sleeves to ensure every inch of your kitchen works hard. After all, a clutter-free kitchen is a joy to cook in, whether you're whipping up a quick weekday dinner or hosting a grand Sunday roast for the family.
